While it is always a delight to have your dog close beside you in the house, a number of dog breeds are simply too big or too active to be kept indoors for long periods of time. These kinds of dogs need a secure outdoor space in which they can run and play and enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine while simultaneously being protected from the elements. This is where an outdoor kennel comes in. Although you most likely have a garden with a secure fence, and you may think this is all you need, to be entirely sure that your dog cannot escape while he is outside, you will want a proper structure made using specially designed dog panels.
Portable kennels are an excellent option for dog owners wanting to keep their pet safe, secure and happy outside. These runs are usually constructed using six to eight wire dog panels, which are easy to put together with hinges but can also easily fold up and be stowed away when you don’t want them. The dog panels used to make a portable kennel are available in a variety of sizes and are made with either wire bars or mesh, so you can choose the right one to suit your particular kind (and size) of dog.
The benefits of having a portable kennel are that you can easily take it with you if you are bringing your pet on holiday or a trip, and you can also move it around to different parts of your garden, which helps prevent your lawn from developing a bald patch where your dog might scratch at the grass while he is in the kennel. Another benefit is that some of these temporary runs made using panels can be linked to another set, or even two (thereby increasing the size of the run), and they come with gates built in to one of the panels, so it is easy to get your dog in and out. Dog panels are easy to purchase and set up, but make sure you opt for the galvanized versions, as they are more durable and offer great value for money.
